For all of you with spouses or if you live with your significant other I am sure you've come to find out...that decorating your home can be difficult. Trying to find a balance between masculine and feminine can be a daunting task! For me, I want our home to be a representation of the both of us and I want the Mr. to feel like it is his space and love it just as much as I do. Which brings me to todays post. The Man Room. You know what I am talking about. That space that your husband begs you for and wants to decorate as "his own" where he can lounge and scratch his um head and burp without offending you.
So I ask you. Would you give your spouse/significant other free reign over their "man room" or would you politely HELP guide their decorating decisions so you don't come home to Redneck Yacht Club meets Las Vegas bachelor pad. I know that my idea of a man room and the Mr.'s probably isn't exactly the same. So I thought I would share some of my favorite "man-ly" rooms.
Now you've seen some of my favorite spaces. Here is an idea of what is in my Mr.'s head, take a look at these spaces and he would want everything furnished from this store. Okay so maybe he's not that cray cray but those are the spaces that haunt my dreams. Not quite the same as my idea of a man room...no, not at all. The thought of a dead furry animal such as a deer head entering our house literally makes me nauseous...but I know it would make him happy. So I am considering it. Ugh, I can't believe those words just left my mouth. What is the world coming to. Help me....
We have this debate every day. The hubs claims he has no space for his stuff (which is stuff like fishing rods and surfboards). He wants to display them in the house I want them in the garage. If we had a huge house I might give a room of his own but I am so anal I would want to decorate it!
ReplyDeleteTotally agree with you! It is hard to find that balance. My husband and I kind of collaborated on our living room. We are living in an apartment though, so we didn't go all out to decorate because we'll be moving again soon. However, whenever we do purchase a home (hopefully this summer!) I suppose he can have an input in the study, but not the living room :) haha
