Oh and note to fellow DIYers...if you drop one of the Christmas balls with hot glue all over it don't try to pick it up or you'll burn your hand! haha Once you've finished gluing all of the metal caps untwist the end of the hanger and start stringing the ornaments one at a time, alternating different sizes and colors depending on your preference. For our wreaths we alternated one large ornament, followed by two small, one large, one small, one large, two small...you get the idea. Once your finished twist the end of the hanger back together and you can use that to hang it on the door. We covered the end of our hanger with a gold bow and ribbon! They turned out fabulous!

DIY Christmas Ornament Wreath
On Friday some friends and I made a date to make Christmas wreaths...we decided to make them out of Christmas ornaments. It was one of the easiest projects I have done and they turned out sooo pretty! To start off you want to take a wire hanger and bend it into the shape of a circle. Next you want to get your hot glue gun and some A LOT of different sized christmas balls...We used around 50 large balls and 25-30 smaller ones for each wreath. Now you'll want to hot glue the metal caps to the actual Christmas ornaments. Trust me, this step is THE most important because otherwise as you start stringing them the balls will fall off (not very fun or productive).

Very pretty!! I like the idea that you used wire and made it into a circle instead of using a foam wreath form! Turned out gorg!!
ReplyDeleteThanks! The wire hanger was SO much easier...we started out with the styrofoam wreath but quickly decided against it!
